I have two questions for you. One is it possible you can give some tips on a decent gaming PC build for around 1000$? And two, as someone who has almost no knowledge in computers, where can I go to start learning about how they work, what parts are better then others, ect, ect?
Well, first off, thanks for asking! Getting into building computers is a seemingly big leap that can be very confusing and challenging if approached from the wrong angles.
My first tip, know what you want. Really ask yourself, questions like why do I need this? What aspects are most important to me (seems like you’ve already chosen gaming as yours though)? What lengths am I willing to go to get this? And finally, where do I start?
Like I said, you already seem to have some of these down, but I would start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw [newegg how to build a pc part one]
Next I would go to this site: http://pcpartpicker.com/
Make an account, and start looking at other people’s systems. I’ve personally built and posted two systems, but have worked on several others. I appear as “lol1759” on this site.
After you’ve done these things, you have another choice; begin buying parts, or continue to research more parts and techniques.
If you chose to check out other techniques, look to guys like this: https://www.youtube.com/user/SingularityComputers
His stuff is pretty complex, but damn if it doesn’t look pretty.
That’s pretty much it! Ask me more questions if you get more, if you need me to, I can record a video of my own and throw it up on YouTube.
